Des Bishop says more about being irish in his various series (Work Experience on) than the crushingly dull "What It Means To Be Irish" doc.

I've always found Des to be a terrible comedian but this series is wonderful. Laughed out loud over his Modh Coinníollach Horror Movie. (Yes I had to Google that spelling)
He's at his best with a touch of seriousness about what he's saying. JITH was a flop IMO as nobody wants to see positive stories about working class people. We want horrible stuff like the drama Prosperity about crushing poverty and abasement.
I think he waters down his material to suit his audience (he is way too sharp for some of the crap he does). ever since his immersion sketch on late late he to me has been able to see us irish is a friendly / bang on correct way, his Work Experience series which I got on DVD should have been a forewarning to the dept. of enterprise & employment - very human very funny very much poking scorn on ... got leg it for a train, bfn

It is a good series, and I like a lot of his stuff. I think in general, he is funny, although Joy in the Hood flopped badly.
