iPhone doesn't even come close to matching the potential of the n95! (google 'n95 8gb vs pentium II pc, says it all!) I had (still have) an N73 & i loved it. I managed to 'modify' it & got the music edition firmware on it. Since i got the N95 & then the 8gb, i would almost say it's the single best purchase i've ever made! Again, i've mine modified heavily & with the applications i've added, cut down how much i relied on my laptop by almost half!
Wait a sec, I wouldn't dream of buying an iPhone. I find it hard to hold, awkward to text on, and hopelessly crippled software-wise. It's not a consideration.
N95-8GB is an incredible phone. It still manages to surprise me most days with "ooh I didn't know you could do that". The ever growing list of apps is just fantastic. Latest installs for me were Handy Taskman, SymTorrent, DivX player and Marble Madness. Downsides are shockingly bad battery-life, no lens cover and slider wobble. I've also had to reflash it twice in 7 months when it slowed to a crawl and I couldn't figure it out.
I've an E65 aswell, got it just before my N95, & I was pretty happy with battery life to be honest. One thing to note is that turning off 3G & just using gsm made a HUGE difference, also having the latest firmware helps. Give me a shout when you get your N95, I can 'pimp' them up & have them do some pretty cool things!
@conoro: Surprised by your issue with having to flash twice, especially due to it slowing down! It's got a 332mhz processor & 128mb RAM which should easily cope with any usage.
I've had mine carrying upto 7.5gb of stuff without batting an eyelid & I've modified close to 50 handsets for people without ever encountering this. The only thing I can think of that could cause it is if the phone memory is near full. The RAM uses the phone memory to 'hold' information, allowing free RAM for on demand use & still having quick access to your background apps by having it at the ready on the phone memory. So, if it doesn't have space to do that, it's going to have to try run everything together & slow it down.
Btw, if you're into your apps & that 'Ooh, I didn't know you could do that' effect, my services might be of interest to you... :)
I was in the Meteor store yesterday and you can get a N95 for €279 Euro if you sign up to their 300min plan. I don't know - that's a lot of money to pay for a phone. I just haven't heard any convincing arguments for why the N95 (or any smartphone ) is a must-have.
In Carphone, I sold almost 40 of them from Xmas to April!! It's an iPod, ultra high quality digital camera, sat nav, movie player, web browser, mobile office & a lot more. Calling it a 'phone' is a MAJOR understatement, it's like having my laptop in my pocket. Endless connectivity & synchronisation options available.
I've got the N95 8gb, had N95-1, E65, N73me, N70me & will be getting the N96 because the Symbian S60 platform imho, is unbeatable.
The only concern I'd have from your comment is Meteor. They don't have a 3G network so you're limiting yourself potentially. Go for the N95 8gb, it's around the same price as Meteor, on Vodafone Perfect Choice 400 with a data add on. You won't be sorry!
@SteveMcGrath: I've seen mention on some of the discussion boards that the slow-down is due to some bug with mass memory and photos. The general slowdown is not massively noticable until you try to record video and it's unable to do so without stuttering constantly. This is with no other apps running and 7GB free on mass memory (and 80MB on internal memory). Same issue with camera. - the "processing image" message can last for up to 30 seconds. If I reflash, re-format mass memory and reinstall all apps, the problem goes away for a few months.

Congratulations on the new arrival! I'd buy you a card but, ya know, completely not necessary... :D

The N95 8GB is like having an iPhone with texting, video and internet radio options that line out to your TV.

iPhone = Content Consumption
N95 = Content Creation
Simple. What do you prefer to do?

Battery on all new nokia are hopeless IMHO. Nokia e65 with bluetooth and wifi barely manages to get through the day.
Will buy the N95 next, screen size is ideal and I would use the GPS, with the camera and zonetag
